[010] [action/audio] covering a shift

[This isn't the first time Touya's woken up to an empty side of the bed, but it is the first time he's gone to bed alone. In a house with only him in it.]

[He comes out of the bedroom and casts cursory glances around the living room and kitchen. No sign of either of them. Twenty minutes with a bowl of cereal and his journal tell him there's no word on the network either. His shoulders come down, and he stares at the journal and his empty bowl. After a minute, he reaches over and starts a recording.]

[Audio]

After being kidnapped, where in Luceti have people been returned to? If I was looking for someone who had come back, where would I look?

To be honest, they could arrive anywhere. I've awakened from kidnapping near the river or lake, and had friends arrive at the plaza or in the middle of the forest....

...yeah, I thought so. [That doesn't stop him from sounding disappointed, though.]

[She understands, and her voice softens a touch.]

Who are you seeking? If nothing else, at least others can keep an eye out for the person.

[identity profile] guardiancomplex.livejournal.com 2011-08-10 10:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Tsukishiro Yukito and Yue. They didn't come home after work two days ago. [It makes him sick to think about it, honestly. But she's right: more people can be on the lookout if he makes the effort despite how much he doesn't want to think about the details.]

[Voice]

[identity profile] eidolon-soul.livejournal.com 2011-08-10 10:36 pm (UTC)(link)
I imagine it will be a while, then...but still, I'll keep them in mind. If I find them, I'll pass on the news.

[Voice]

[identity profile] guardiancomplex.livejournal.com 2011-08-10 10:53 pm (UTC)(link)
[A while... Touya definitely isn't looking forward to waiting a while. The house is already eerily quiet, not to mention Yuki is the love of his life and he's getting there with Yue.]

...the Malnosso haven't killed anyone before, have they? On purpose or accidentally?

[Voice]

[identity profile] eidolon-soul.livejournal.com 2011-08-10 11:21 pm (UTC)(link)
...not that I know of, no. That might defeat their purpose of using us as lab rats. However, they don't seem to mind returning us in bad shape.

They can appear anywhere.

I've heard some had the misfortune of returning under bathroom sinks.

From what I can tell it usually differs. But I think one of the more popular spots might be the forest? It's at least a place you should be cautious of. Incase they do happen to arrive there.

Most of the time 'bad shape' can be fixed... [This conversation is starting to drive him crazy.] Dead is a little irreversible.

While they can appear anywhere, the most common places seem to be the forest or the lake, especially with those who can take care of themselves. The more dependant ones, like children, seem to be dropped off closer.

... Who is it you're looking for, Touya?

Bathroom sinks...?

[He didn't just clear out everything under the sink just in case. Of course not.] Who came back under their sink?

[Voice]

[identity profile] guardiancomplex.livejournal.com 2011-08-11 03:43 am (UTC)(link)
[The forest, right. That was where he came back too.] It isn't a place someone who might be disoriented should be running around in, either.

It is only a rumor. I'm afraid I don't know specifics.

[Voice]

[identity profile] guardiancomplex.livejournal.com 2011-08-11 03:47 am (UTC)(link)
...Yuki and Yue are gone. Guess I have to start hanging around the forest and the lake, huh?

[Voice]

[identity profile] former-third.livejournal.com 2011-08-11 03:49 am (UTC)(link)
I see... you can't be in both places at once. Want to switch off?

[identity profile] guardiancomplex.livejournal.com 2011-08-11 03:50 am (UTC)(link)
Oh.

[That actually made him feel a little better for a moment. Too bad he couldn't go on imagining someone crammed under their sink.]

I arrived in a closet.

[Voice]

[identity profile] guardiancomplex.livejournal.com 2011-08-11 03:52 am (UTC)(link)
You'd do that...? [He sounds genuinely surprised. While Neliel was his pseudo-mother for a while, Touya didn't expect this.]

[Voice]

[identity profile] eidolon-soul.livejournal.com 2011-08-11 03:55 am (UTC)(link)
Not here, it isn't. But regardless, I doubt that will happen. It isn't their style. Those kidnapped are likely to need you when they return, but even that will wear off in time.

[Voice]

[identity profile] whydidisaverick.livejournal.com 2011-08-11 04:08 am (UTC)(link)
It isn't. But I think it's rare that anyone is ever seriously injured on their way back. With the journal system it's nearly impossible for at least some kind of search rescue party to not be formed.

[Voice]

[identity profile] former-third.livejournal.com 2011-08-11 04:11 am (UTC)(link)
Absolutely. I know what it's like to be missing someone close, and I don't mind a taking some time out of my day if I can help ease your mind a bit.

In a closet? I'm sorry to hear that. It must have been very uncomfortable.

Honestly? Probably in the place that would be the least convenient. They returned me in the lake one time. A few of my friends wound up in the forest...it's too chancy to really tell.

But if you really needed to pinpoint it, I'd stick with where you'd least expect it.

[Voice]

[identity profile] guardiancomplex.livejournal.com 2011-08-11 04:55 pm (UTC)(link)
I can be there--I just want to be there physically when they do come back. So they don't have to... be afraid longer than necessary.

It wasn't so bad. It was a pretty big closet, as closets go. And someone found me pretty soon after and let me out.
