complexing | [APPOINTMENT POST] suit and tie

[Touya isn't quite to laughing territory just yet. It's been three weeks of sleeping in the same empty, cold bed. He hasn't even been able to hold either of them. Yuki may have been amused by Touya's reaction, but to him it's completely justified.]

[He pulls Yuki by his shoulders up onto the bed and over him, so they're in their usual sleeping spots, and Touya just holds him there.] Someday maybe you'll lose me for three weeks, and then we'll see who's laughing. [He frowns, though Touya can't exactly look terribly mad when he's holding Yuki to him.]

I'm not laughing at you, Touya.

[Yukito's smile turns more gentle, and he lifts a hand to rest it against Touya's face, thumb brushing against his cheekbone.]

I just... it's good to be able to touch you again.

...yeah, I know. [He has his moments, when he thinks nobody really recognizes how hard he's been working or how rough he's had it. But Yuki is always sympathetic, always asking if he's alright. The past few weeks just have him on edge.]

Sorry. It was just hard, watching Yue fly around and not knowing what to do. I didn't even know if I would see you again. I didn't think I could take much more of driving myself into the ground so I could distract myself.

But I'm here now. We're both here, and everything is back to normal... as much as it can be, in this place.

[Touya pauses, just to shift and make himself more comfortable. There's a sigh in there as well, more comfortable and tired than frustrated to upset.]

For now, but I can't help but think about what happens if you both left me again. I almost lost you once and I could actually do something about it. And this time... [He resumes holding Yuki tightly.]

Don't focus so much on what might happen, Touya. Not when it could keep you from being happy right now.

[Yukito isn't exactly against being held, and is in fact going to settle himself a little more comfortably as well. Just for this moment there isn't a thing he wants to change.]

But here... I was freaking out all over the network, setting up search parties, Neliel-san and Kairi and Link were looking for you. I never once felt like I wasn't lonely when you weren't here. And it just scares me, to think that I could feel that way every day if something happened.

[All right, one thing he wants to change. It would be easier to be content if Touya wasn't so obviously distressed.]

I appreciate that you were so concerned, but... there's no need to invite trouble that doesn't exist right now. You might feel that way if something happened. I would, if something happened to you. But nothing has happened yet. I'm back, safe and sound, and that's all I need.

[Touya takes a deep breath, breathing in all of his anxieties and holding them there, and then letting everything out.]

You're right, I know you're right. [He loosens his grip on Yuki and tries to relax. Maybe he just hasn't been sleeping enough. He feels about as high-strung as he did when he still had his powers and Sakura was out in the middle of the night.]

[Yukito only smiles, brushing his fingers lightly through Touya's hair.]

But you're still you, and you're still going to worry even when you don't need to. Right?

Pretty much. [He grabs and pulls at Yuki's cheek, looking unimpressed at Yuki's ability to read him like a book.]

[Yukito laughs, taking that as confirmation enough. It's reassuring, at least, to see Touya acting more like himself again, even if it's at the cost of his face.]

I've missed a lot of your cooking while I was gone, too.

Is that a hint for me to start heating some leftovers? [He smiles slightly and pulls a little more. Personally, Touya doesn't want to move and he has a feeling Yuki doesn't want to either. But he also doesn't want to get in the way of Yuki and food. That's just asking for extremely sad faces.]

Maybe not quite yet.

[Yukito wrinkles his nose a little at the continued face-pulling, but he doesn't show any inclination to move at all. He's quite happy where he is for the moment, having also missed this during the time he was gone.]

I didn't think so. [Touya finally lets go of Yuki's face and resettles, pushing himself up over Yuki. After smirking slightly, he dips down and puts a kiss on Yuki's lips.]

I thought... maybe we could take a few minutes for ourselves.

I think I can wait that long, then.

[He gives another quiet laugh, lifting a hand to rest against the back of Touya's neck and encourage him to stay close enough to steal another kiss.]

A few minutes? Two or three? Maybe more? [He obliges Yuki with another kiss, and then another. ...and another. And then he's running a hand over Yuki's hair and getting a little more serious with his kissing.]

[Even if he had been hungry, by this point Yukito would have forgotten it entirely. To him it feels like the world around them has faded away in favor of this moment, and all he can think about was the warmth of Touya's presence, the feel of his lips and the scent of his skin, and the shiver he can't help at the brush of fingers across his hair.]

Forever. As long as you're there.

Forever's a long time. [He nuzzles Yuki's cheek while they're on a breathing-break.] I don't know if I can keep this up forever. How about we take a few breaks occasionally. For food? And maybe a bath?

I suppose that would be all right...

[Yukito laughs quietly, sounding just a touch breathless as he does.]

As long as the breaks don't take too long.

[Touya laughs softly.] I'll hurry if you will. [And he starts working on making Yuki a little more breathless.]

[Aaaaand after a considerable amount of time, though not quite forever, the rumble of Yukito's stomach becomes a bit more insistent. He gives a soft, slightly embarrassed laugh and brushes a fingertip across the ridge of Touya's wing.]

Maybe it's time for one of those breaks.

[And a lovely, considerable amount of time it is. Touya is very clearly pleased with how this has all panned out--he's flushed and feels a little like he's glowing. This was one of the better parts of having their own place, Touya decided. And after they ate, well... they'd probably just go right back to what they'd been doing. It had been a while.]

And your stomach makes the call yet again. [Touya smiles--his happy aura is too extensive to be actually upset that Yuki has to pause to eat something.] You've got a choice you know. Lamb stew, lasagna, cucumber soup, or baked salmon.

[It definitely had been a while, and this makes for a good way to push away what he remembers of his time with the Malnosso, as well. Yukito is content and more than content and right now... well, good food only makes things better.]

Hmm, all of it?

I thought so. [He kisses Yuki on the cheek and rolls over, heading for the kitchen and the refrigerator.]
